About Wright Flight

The mission of Wright Flight is to use the inherent motivational power of aviation as a stimulus for students to set and achieve higher goals in their educational and personal development. From the examples of aviation role models, we teach students that through commitment and hard work they can achieve their own goals, earn the reward of exciting, aviation related experiences, and develop a more positive self concept.

When students achieve all requirements of the program, their reward is a flight with a volunteer pilot in a light aircraft.  Our goal for this trail ride is to help raise money to offset the fuel costs incurred by the pilots volunteering their time and money for these flights.  All of the resources used to organize this trail ride consist of 100% donations from wonderful people like you.  In addition, 100% of the funds received from these donations will go directly to the purpose intended.  I do hope you are able to support a worthy cause.

The Wright Flight Program is a non-profit oganization. Dewayne Burgess, a retired Air Force fighter pilot, and owner of Roy Frey Western in Topeka, KS, founded the original Kansas Chapter in 1992.  He later encouraged friends in Missouri to establish a chapter and currently serves as President of the recently combined Kansas/Missouri Chapter.

Thank you in advance for any and all support you can give this wonderful program!
